Eastern GEAR UP professionals attend third annual Effective Educators Seminar Series
GEAR UP Professional Development Coordinator Debbie Walters and Assistant Professional Development Coordinator Stacy Burmeier display books they received at the third annual Effective Educators Seminar Series.
WILBURTON, OK (July 31, 2014) – Two members of Eastern Oklahoma State College’s GEAR UP team recently attended the Classroom Management Conference featuring Drs. Harry and Rosemary Wong. GEAR UP Professional Development Coordinator Debbie Walters and Assistant Professional Development Coordinator Stacy Burmeier attended the third annual Effective Educators Seminar Series at the Allen ISD Performance Arts Center in Allen, Texas.
The conference emphasized techniques from Dr. Harry Wong’s new book “The Classroom Management Book.” The new release is a companion to his best-selling book, “The First Days of School.” The new publication is a solutions book that describes how to organize and structure a classroom to create a safe and positive environment for student learning and achievement to take place.
“It was great information that is beneficial, relevant and inspirational for all educators,” stated Burmeier.
Dr. Harry Wong is a dynamic, motivational speaker who specializes in classroom management and student achievement. He is known for his common–sense, researched–based, no–cost approach to managing a classroom for high–level student success. His techniques have been adapted by thousands of educators, and he is credited with renewing entire schools and rescuing countless frustrated teachers.
Also presenting was Chelonnda Seroyer, a teacher and educational speaker.
