Eastern picks up two conference wins against Northern-Tonkawa
WILBURTON, OK (Nov. 30, 2012) – Eastern Oklahoma State College picked up two conference wins in Wilburton on Thursday against Northern Oklahoma College-Tonkawa.
The Lady Mountaineers remain undefeated in conference play after a 73-56 win over the Lady Mavs. Sophomore Taylor Jones from Austin, Tex. led the team in scoring with 17 points. Sophomore Shola Adebayo of Oklahoma City earned a double-double with 15 points and 10 rebounds. Sophomore Rodneisha Milum from Houston, Tex. added 15 points and eight rebounds. The Lady Mountaineers are now 5-2 on the season.
In the men’s game, the Mountaineers defeated the Mavs 72-60. The Mavs entered the game undefeated and ranked No. 19 in the latest NJCAA national poll. Sophomore Rod Lewis from Memphis, Tenn. led the team with 23 points, followed by Sophomore Ryan Devers of Tulsa who added 18 points. The win moves Eastern to 5-5 on the season and 1-2 in conference play.
Eastern will play several games on the road before the winter break. The next home games are scheduled for Jan. 10 against Northern Oklahoma College-Enid at 6 p.m. and 8 p.m.
