Southeastern faculty to perform for second annual Performing Arts Series

WILBURTON, OK (March 5, 2018) – Eastern Oklahoma State College’s Music Department will host members of Southeastern Oklahoma State University’s Department of Music for their Faculty Recital Tour Friday, March 9 at 2:00 p.m. in Mitchell Auditorium. The concert is planned as part of Eastern’s second annual Performing Arts Series and is free and open to the public.

Southeastern faculty members performing include Dr. Jeremy Blackwood, Dr. Tristan Eggener, Dr. Stephanie Emberley, Dr. Michael Scheuerman, Dr. Kate Stubbss and Roy Gonzalez. The faculty will perform such works as Arthur Pryor’s Thoughts on Love and Giacomo Miluccio’s Rhapsodie. In addition to voice, they will also display their musical aptitude with accompanying performances on the piano, tuba, bass-baritone, clarinet and trombone.

The Performing Arts Series was established in 2016 as a scholarship fundraiser for Eastern students. The goal of the series is to expose Eastern students and the community to high-quality live performances that will stimulate their minds, enhance their cultural knowledge, and excite their emotional engagement in learning. While this event is free, all Series proceeds are directly applied to student scholarships.
