Aggie Club Faculty-Student Cookout. The Aggie Club kicked off the 2010-2011 school year by hosting its annual Agriculture faculty-student hamburger cookout. The cookout was held on Tuesday, August 10 at Robbers Cave State Park. The event is conducted each year to allow the Agriculture Faculty and College Administrators to become acquainted with incoming freshmen and welcome back returning sophomores. The club provided hamburgers with all the fixins for the group. Presiding over the event were 2010-2011 Aggie Club President, Kristen Hedge, and Vice-President, Ethan Woods. Club membership registration was also conducted at the cookout.

Aggie Club Putt-Putt Golf Tournament. The Aggie Club held its annual putt-putt golf tournament at Robbers Cave State Park on Wednesday, August 11. Club members and guests competed in head to head competition around the course. Cards were tallied and the top five scorers competed in a nine-hole playoff to determine the winners. This years champion was Clint Brannon, son of Eastern-s Meat Science Instructor, Gaylon Brannon, who finished in second place. Others competing in the playoff included Cody Duncan, sophomore agriculture education major from Choteau, Curtis Citty, freshman forestry major from Haworth, and Nicole Silvis, freshman agriculture education major from Cleveland. |

The Aggie Club met at Robbers Cave State Park on Thursday, August 19 for a cookout and volleyball game. Club members enjoyed a meal consisting of grilled hot dogs with all the fixins. Following the meal the group divided into teams and competed in a friendly, but competitive, game of volleyball. |

The Aggie Club held its 2010-2011 officer elections on Thursday, August 26 at the Church of Christ Bible Chair. Ice cream was served and the students entertained themselves by playing ping pong, pool, air hockey, and Wii. After the ice cream club members cast their ballots for this year's slate of officers. Serving as officers for 2010-2011 will be President - Kristen Hedge, Rattan sophomore; Vice-President - Ethan Woods, Wilburton sophomore; Co-Secretary - Heather Campbell, Depew freshman; Co-Secretary - Lauren Martin, Webbers Falls sophomore; Treasurer - Tony Jarvis, Miami sophomore; Reporter - Curtis Citty, Haworth freshman; and ESGA Representatives – Jessica Coats, Byng freshman; Taylor Morley, Choctaw freshman; Nicole Silvis, Cleveland freshman; and Alexandria Tennant, Panola freshman. |

Texas “Hold Em” Poker |

The Aggie Club held its annual Texas "Hold Em" Poker tournament in the President's Dining Room in the Student Life Center on Tuesday evening, Sept. 14. Contestants were divided around 5 tables in the preliminary round. The winners of each table then competed in the final round to determine this year's winner. After several hours of intense play Tony Jarvis, sophomore agriculture education major from Miami, won the championship over runner-up Cody Duncan, sophomore agriculture education major from Chouteau. Both will receive hoodies for winning the tournament. |

The Aggie Club held a barn dance for its members in the Goddard Building on Monday night, October 26. Over forty club members and guests two-stepped the night away to some of todays top country and red dirt music. The sophomores showed off some of their old moves, while the freshmen introduced some new steps. A fun time was had by all who attended!! |

Aggie Club Pig Roast |

Agriculture Division Chair Leland Walker and his wife Sally hosted a pig roast at their farm near Panola for the Aggie Club and agriculture staff on Thursday, Nov. 4. The pig was smoked by Meat Science staff Gaylon Brannon and Bill Hackworth. In addition to the smoked pork, baked beans, and cole slaw, the menu also included traditional hot dogs and marshmallows. Deserts were provided by agriculture staff and spouses. |

Salvation Army Christmas Kettle Campaign |

Aggie Club Participates In Salvation Army Christmas Kettle Campaign. Members of the Aggie Club assisted the Salvation Army with their annual Christmas Kettle Campaign on the afternoons of Dec. 1st and 2nd. Club members paired up and rang the traditional bells in front of Roys Cardinal Foods in one hour shifts soliciting donations for the cause. The Aggie Club has participated in the event each year since it began in Latimer County five years ago. According to Claudia Jeffrey, program coordinator for Latimer County, all the proceeds raised will remain in the county to assist individuals or families who will be experiencing unexpected hardships in the coming year. Several of the students participated last year and eagerly volunteered again this year. All those who participated thoroughly enjoyed the experience and the opportunity to serve the community. |

AGGIE CLUB ROUND ROBIN ROPING - The Aggie Club held a round robin roping for its members in the Goddard Building on Tuesday night, February 22. Over thirty club members tried their hand at lassoing a roping dummy for prizes. After several go-rounds the winners were determined for the all-around header, all-around heeler, top team and top female. Winners were John Ross Christenberry, Travis Cox, Colby Williamson, and Kristen Hedge. |

AGRICULTURE FACULTY/STUDENT SOFTBALL GAME - After splitting two games last year, a rematch was in order as the Agriculture Faculty played the students in a softball game on Tuesday, March 22. The event was held at the Gary Rosebure Recreational Complex north of Wilburton. The students came into the game full of confidence and had been trash talking for weeks. The game was close with the faculty holding a one run lead going into the last inning. The students scored two runs in the top of the inning and held the faculty scoreless squeeking by with an 11-10 win. Everyone had a great time and there is already talk of a rematch before the end of school. |
