FORESTRY DEPARTMENT
Our nation's forest are an important
renewable resource that, if properly understood and managed,
can provide a bounty of uses for generations to come. Professional
foresters and forest technicians play a vital role in developing
and protecting the forest environment and its diverse resources
and values: timber, water, wildlife, range, recreation, wilderness
and aesthetics.
Employment opportunities in forestry
and natural resource management remain strong as demand for
goods and services from the forest continues to increase. Graduates
are working for federal, state and municipal agencies, private
timber companies, private consulting firms, and other organizations
as foresters, technicians, rangers, naturalists, and managers.
