SCHEDULE OF EVENTS & ENTRY GUIDELINES
UNLESS OTHERWISE SPECIFIED, CONTEST WILL FOLLOW THE STATE FFA
INTERSCHOLASTIC RULES AS CLOSELY AS POSSIBLE. THIS YEAR ALL
CONTEST WILL BE HELD ON FRIDAY.

Friday, April 9, 2010 all teams will
gather at the Field House at 8:00 am.
Farm Business Management, Mitchell Hall, Each chapter may
enter one team composed of three or four members (a team will consist
of the top three scores), and any number of individuals. The
contest will consist of a written test with True/False, Multiple
Choice, and Math Calculations with emphasis on marketing and decision
making. Each contestant must provide their own calculator & No.
2 lead pencils.
Crops Contest, Baker Hall, Room 112, Each chapter may enter one
team composed of three or four members (a team will consist of
the top three scores) and any number of individuals.
Electric Power, Sullivan Hall, Room
204, Each chapter may enter one team composed of 4 members, top
three scores makes a team. Any
number of individuals.
Entomology, Baker Hall, Room 203, Each chapter may enter one team
composed of three or four members and any number of individuals.
Agricultural Shop, Baker Hall, Room
104, Each chapter may enter one team composed of three or four
members (a team will consist of the top three scores); no individuals. Be sure to bring
a No. 2 pencil for the written part of the contest. The contest
will consist of a written exam pertaining to SMAW, GMAW, Oxy-fuel,
shop safety, tool I.D., problem solving, etc. Top 10 teams
will advance to skills portion of the contest. All contestants
should bring welding hoods, gloves, safety goggles, and pliers.
Floriculture, Student Center, 2nd Floor, Each chapter may enter
one team composed of three or four members (a team will consist
of the top three scores) and any number of individuals.
Forestry, Gym Bleachers, Northwest
side, Each chapter may enter one team composed of three or four
members, no individuals. The
contest will follow state FFA Forestry Judging Rules.
Land Judging, Gym Bleachers, South
side, Each chapter may enter a maximum of two teams, one junior
team and one senior team. Junior
teams are limited to 8, 9, & 10th grade students; senior teams
may be 8th-12th grade students. Teams are composed of three
or four members (a team will consist of the top three scores),
all individuals will be entered into the Senior Contest.
Meats Judging, Meat Lab, Each chapter
may enter one team composed of three or four members and unlimited
individuals. The Beef
Carcass Quality and Yield Grading Card that will be used at this
contest will be available upon request.
Nursery/Landscape, Student Center, 2nd Floor, Each chapter may
enter one team composed of three or four members (a team will consist
of the top three scores) and any number of individuals.
Rangeland, Gym Bleachers, Northeast
side, Each chapter may enter one team composed of three or four
members (a team will consist of the top three scores) and any
number of individuals.
Soil and Water Management, Sullivan Hall, Room 104, Each chapter
may enter one team composed of three or four members (a team will
consist of the top three scores) and any number of individuals.
Livestock Judging: Goddard Building, The Livestock Judging
Contest will be divided into Junior and Senior Divisions. The
Junior Division will be 8th, 9th and 10th grades; the Senior Division
may be 8th - 12th grades.
One team per division composed of three
or four students plus any number of individuals may be entered by
each school. There will be nine classes of livestock with oral reasons
given on three or four classes. There will also be a class
of keep and cull heifers.
A concession will be available for
contestants to purchase lunch. Projected
cost will be $5.00 for meal and drink.
