Pro TeamEastern Oklahoma State College Livestock Judging Team took both Junior College Novice and Junior College Pro Divisions at the Tri-State Fair Livestock Judging Competition in Amarillo, Texas, last week (September 19).

Team Wins Scottish ContestIt’s hard to be humble when you travel half way across the world to compete and return from Edinburgh, Scotland winning the show.

But the Eastern Oklahoma State College Livestock Judging Team returned as champions and humble.


Dixie Nationals Press Release

Livestock Judging TeamThe Oklahoma State College Livestock Judging Team participated in the Dixie Nationals Livestock Judging Contest in Jackson, Mississippi held February 7, 2009. The team finished 2nd behind Blinn College overall earning a total of 4456 points. The team was also 1st in Continental, 3rd in the Market, Reasons, and English Divisions as well as 4th in the Brahman Influenced Division.  Four members as follow earned individual awards: 5th Overall and 3rd in Market was Daniel Martin of Morris, OK; 7th  Overall, 2nd Continental, 7th English, and 8th in Reasons was Sabrina Meeks of Broken Bow, OK; and 10th  Overall and 6th Continental was Katie Caudill of Mt. Sterling, KY; 9th in Brahman influenced was Shane Smith of Quinton, OK.  Other team members were Chelsea Coffman, Bart Everett, and Kirk Vickrey.

Louisiana State Fair
October 27, 2008

The Eastern Oklahoma State College Livestock Judging Team won the Louisiana State Fair Contest Pro-Division in Shreveport, Louisiana on October 27, 2008. The team included four of the five high sophomore individuals overall.  The members are listed accordingly as ranked first through fourth; Chris Whitley, Katie Caudill, Sabrina Meeks, and Chelsea Coffman.


Tulsa State Fair Contest
October 4, 2008

The Eastern Oklahoma State College Livestock Judging Novice Team won the Tulsa State Fair Contest held on October 4, 2008.  With a combined team total of 3373 points Eastern finished ahead of Connors State College by thirteen points’s to win the title.    Along with the team championship there were also several individual awards brought home listed below. In addition to those there were several other species and reasons awards. This was a great accomplishment for a very talented group of individuals. 

The team consisted of:

  • Justin Frailey, Mannford; OK: 5th High Individual Overall

  • Megan Olvera, Texarkana, AR; finishing just out of the top ten

Tri-State Fair, Amarillo, Texas

The Eastern Oklahoma State College Livestock Judging Team participated in its first competion of the fall semester. The Tri-State Fair Livestock Judging contest was held on September 13th, in Amarillo, Texas. There were more then 150 students in attendance and over 15 schools represented. The following students received recognition in the competion.
