Theatre Eastern and the EOSC Music Department will present the annual Spring Musical Thursday, April 28th and Friday, April 29th at 7:30pm in Mitchell Auditorium on the Wilburton campus. This year’s production is the crowd-favorite Grease. Tickets will be available at the door an hour before each performance, and doors will open for General Admission seating at 7pm. Tickets are $7 for Adults and $5 for Students under 18 and Senior Citizens.
Advance tickets are also available for the pre-show Celebrity Waiter Dinner Theatre in the Student Center Ballroom. A 1950s style Diner will be recreated complete with burgers, fries, Coke floats, moon pies, live music and sassy local celebrity waiters. After the 6pm dinner, everyone will head over to priority seating in the Auditorium, and tickets for the whole package are only $20! All proceeds will go to the Cheri Potter Memorial Theatre Scholarship Endowment and Eastern Music and Theatre scholarships.
This year’s cast includes Eastern faculty member and former Theatre Eastern Director Ruth Askew Brelsford as Ms. Lynch, the Rydell High School principal, played in the movie version of Grease by actress Eve Arden and in the 1992 Eastern stage version by Cheri Potter, in whose name the Theatre Scholarship Endowment has been created.
The rest of the cast includes: Cheyenne Reavis, Holdenville freshman as Patty Simcox; Brent Durant, Talihina freshman as Eugene Florczyk; Hailie Nicole Dust, Stuart freshman as Jan; Emily Enis, Wilburton freshman as Marty; Emily Witt, Wilburton High School senior as Betty Rizzo; Cecil Lee of McAlester as Doody and the Teen Angel; Chris Horstman, Talihina sophomore as Roger; Justin Joslin, Carl Albert freshman as Kenickie; Scott Edgar, Cape Girardeaux, MO freshman as Sonny LaTierri; Jennifer Pearson, Wilburton sophomore as Frenchy; Skylar Bell, Wilburton freshman as Sandy Dumbrowski; Taylor Bray, Wilburton freshman as Danny Zuko; Colby Carpenter, Red Oak freshman as Vince Fontaine; Laura Myers, Wilburton sophomore as Cha-Cha DiGregorio; and Caitlin Brownlee, Wilburton sophomore as Jenny Casino. The Gamblers will be played by Wilburton freshmen, Lacy Dunlap and Marissa Scott; McAlester sophomore, Sherece Means; and Lauren Pope, a high school senior from McAlester. The Chorus also includes: Shanna Harp, Kinta sophomore; Jackie Moore, Wilburton freshman; and Jo Stewart, Hartshorne High School sophomore.
Wilburton sophomore Hannah Johnson is the Stage Manager; Judy Stewart of Haileyville has been working on Costumes; and Technical Assistants are Laura Keen and Patricia Sykes. Eastern faculty Paul Enis and Mary Ford are directing the music, and local music teacher Dottie Minshall Choreographed the dances.
