'Southern Hospitality' to be presented by Theatre Eastern

Theatre Eastern will present their first play of the 2010-2011 season this week. The comedy Southern Hospitality by Jessie Jones, Nicholas Hope, and Jamie Wooten will play at 7:30 p.m., Thursday, September 30th and Friday, October 1st in Mitchell Auditorium on the Wilburton campus of Eastern Oklahoma State College.

Southern Hospitality tells the story of Fayro, Texas, a small town struggling to survive in a bad economy. When Fayro residents find out that a salsa factory is looking to relocate somewhere in Texas, however, they go all out to impress the visiting company representative from up north. Of course, things go spectacularly wrong, and the result is a hilarious night in the theatre that you won’t want to miss according to Theater Instructor Melissa Lee. Audiences at last year’s wildly popular Christmas Belles will recognize some of their favorite Fayro characters, but Southern Hospitality is a whole new story, packed full of laughs that audiences old and new will enjoy, she added.

The cast of Southern Hospitality includes: Pat Bolin Ratliff, Eastern science instructor as Geneva Musgrave; Hailie Dust, Stuart freshman as Honey Raye; Jennifer Pearson, Wilburton sophomore as Gina Jo; Chelsie Hanna, Eufaula sophomore as Rhonda Lynn; Marissa Scott, Wilburton freshman as Twink Futrelle; Chris Horstman, Talihina sophomore as Justin Waverly; Cody Bone, Hugo freshman as Dub Dubberly; Laura Myers, Wilburton sophomore as Frankie Futrelle Dubberly; Todd Minshall, Wilburton community favorite as Raynerd Chisum; Hannah Johnson, Wilburton freshman as Iney Dubberly; Katie Gulley, Eufaula freshman as D. The Stage Manager is Wilburton freshman, Lacy Dunlap, and the Understudy is McAlester sophomore, Sherece Means. The technical crew includes; Tia Battiest, Shanna Harp, and Laura Keen.
