Marilynn Duncan, Division Chairperson

The Behavioral and Social Sciences is one of the most diverse division on campus relevant to program offerings. The division includes the Psychology and Sociology Department of which Marilynn Duncan is the department head. This department emphasizes techniques of scientific inquiry and the contribution of psychology and sociology to the well-being of society and its members.

The History & Political Science Department, under the leadership of Cathy Cogburn, provides the Social Science student the opportunity to develop a foundation in history or political science for university transfer.

Finally, within the Social Science Division is the Criminal Justice Department under the guidance of Bryan Denny. This department tailors its programs to the specific career goals of the student to include, corrections, law, juvenile delinquency, FBI, criminology, forensics and law enforcement. The Criminal Justice major following the Collegiate Officer Program (COP) option will be prepared with the academic and skills requirements necessary to take the Oklahoma Police Office exam by CLEET leading to his/her full certification as a police officer.

Sandefur named as Outstanding Social Science Division Graduate
