
ADMISSIONS :: Counseling Center
The Counseling Center provides academic, career and personal counseling
to students and prospective students. New students will be assisted by
a counselor in scheduling classes and choosing a career goal. Students
are assigned a faculty advisor who has expertise in the student's chosen
educational field. The Counseling Center is located in the Bill H. Hill
Library, room 109/110.
Counseling Center Services
Our Counseling Center offers counseling in the following areas:
Academic Counseling
The Counseling Center provides assistance to students in selecting appropriate
class schedules. Counselors will assist students in developing a degree
plan to insure that course requirements are met for graduation.
Transfer Counseling
The Counseling staff maintains contact with representatives from four-year
colleges and universities to provide students with current transfer information
and degree requirements. A resource area is available containing transfer
information, transfer guides, brochures, college catalogs, scholarship
forms and applications.

Career / Undecided Counseling
Counselors provide personal inventory tests including assessment of skills,
interests, and values to assist students in making career choices. Resource
books and computer programs regarding careers, career descriptions, career
salaries and outlooks are available for students unsure of their academic
major.
Personal Counseling
Counselors provide assistance in personal counseling in cooperation with
available community and state agencies. Students can be referred for additional
counseling services and crisis intervention if needed or requested.
