In game one the Mountaineers jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning. NEO took a 3-2 lead in the sixth inning by scoring three runs in the frame. But the Mountaineers answered right back. In the bottom half of the 6th, Kyle Price connected for his second home run of the year to tie the score. Eastern put it away in the six with three runs. Tim Sogan drove in two with a single and Price added another RBI single to complete the scoring. Hiarali Garcia improved to 7-2 and Joe Noyes picked up his 7th save of the season. Garcia threw eight innings and allowed just seven hits and three runs while striking out eight. Noyes pitched a scoreless ninth for the save. In game two, Eastern just could not get the bats going. Despite Blake King throwing his 3rd one-hitter of the season, the Mountaineers lost 1-0. King threw a seven inning complete game and surrendered just two hits and zero earned runs. He brought his team high strike out total up to 97 with 10 strike outs on the day. The Mountaineers had chances early, but could not capitalize. They left the bases loaded in the 1st inning and in the 2nd and 3rd innings they left two on in each. The Mountaineers will take the field again on Monday, April 24th. They will travel to Denison, TX to take on Grayson County College. The single nine inning game is slated to begin at 1:00 pm.
