Eastern Drops First Game Against Fort Smith

By a score of 9-5, the Eastern Oklahoma State College baseball team lost the first of a two game series with the University of Arkansas at Fort Smith.  The loss drops the Mountaineers overall record to 20-10 and Bi-State Conference record to 3-2.  Defensive miscues and six walks led to nine Lions runs (seven of which were unearned).  Offensively the Mountaineers were led by Chance Gerloff and Josh Rorex.  Gerloff went 2-5 with two stolen bases and two runs scored.  Rorex went 2-4 with 2 rbi’s.

The Mountaineers finish their two game series with the Lions on Thursday.  They will travel to Fort Smith for a 3:00 pm game.
