MOUNTAINEER BASEBALLHEAD COACH, Aric Thomas Mountaineers Split With Seminole
The first game had four lead changes. Seminole struck first with three runs in the 1st inning. An RBI double in the second by Kyle Price started the scoring for Eastern. Chance Gerloff added a two run home run in the third to tie the score. Ryan Davis gave the Mountaineers the lead in the 5th inning with an RBI single. Seminole reclaimed the lead in the 7th inning with three runs. The Mountaineers rallied with four runs in the 8th inning capped by Gerloff’s two RBI single. Gerloff, Price, Tim Sogan and Justin Mitchell each had two hits in game one. Joe Noyes tossed 2 1/3 scoreless innings to pick up his 6th win of the year. Game two was a pitcher’s duel. Despite Derek Edwards three hit complete game, the Mountaineer offense could not score any runs. Edwards was touched for two runs in the first, but did not allow another hit the rest of the way. Offensively Carey Crain had two hits in the game. This final week of the regular season is a busy one for the Mountaineers. They will take the field again on Thursday, May 4th. Eastern will host Connors State College in a 1:00 pm single nine inning game. Friday, May 5th the Mountaineers will play their final two home games. They will host Rose State College in a double header beginning at 1:00 pm. On Saturday, May 6th the Mountaineers will travel to Warner, OK to take on Connors State College. Saturday’s start time is 1:00 pm. Finally, on Sunday, May 7th Eastern will wrap up their regular season with a 1:00 pm double header at Redlands Community College (El Reno, OK).
