MOUNTAINEER BASEBALL Story by Aric Thomas Mountaineer Baseball Players Sign With Division I SchoolsThe Eastern Oklahoma Baseball Team had four players sign National Letters of Intent with Division I colleges during the early signing period. “This is a big day for our program,” said Head Coach Aric Thomas. “These players were in our first recruiting class, a year and a half ago. They made a commitment with Eastern to develop as student athletes. This is a great reward and opportunity for each one of these young men. During their time at Eastern, they have raised the level of our program with their strong character, work ethic and leadership skills.” The Mountaineer baseball team was ranked as high as 14th nationally last year and looks poised to make a run at the Junior College World Series this upcoming spring season. Third baseman Ryan Davis and catcher Chad Price signed scholarships to attend the University of Texas at Arlington. Shortstop Kyle Price signed an offer to play at Oral Roberts University. Left handed pitcher Kevin Whyte signed with Canisius College. The Mountaineers open their spring season on February 5th at home against Paris Junior College.
