Eastern Downs Independence 11-4

The Eastern Oklahoma State College baseball team hosted Independence Community College Tuesday afternoon.  The Mountaineers pounded out 17 hits on route to their 11-4 victory.  With the win, Eastern raised its season record to 13-5.  Every Mountaineer starter contributed with at least one hit and Justin Mitchell, Bo O’Dell, Russell Boothe, Logan Schamburg and Steve Irvine had two hits a piece.  Two red-shirt freshman, outfielder O’Dell and first baseman Jimmy Gammons had their first career hits.  On the mound, Gunner Glad, Ben Hayes and Derek Edwards combined to shut down the Pirates.  Glad picked up the win and raised his record to 2-1.

The Mountaineers will travel to Northeast Texas Community College for two games on Sunday, March 11th.  They will take on Lon Morris College at 4:00 pm and Northeast Texas Community College at 7:00 pm.
