Eastern
Rallies In 9th Inning To Beat Carl Albert
The Eastern Oklahoma State College baseball team (18-6) scored
three runs in its final at bat to earn a come from behind win. The
Mountaineers led after 5 ½ innings 7-2, but Carl Albert
rallied for one in the 6th, one in the 7th and four in the 8th
to take a 8-7 lead. In the 9th inning, Kyle Price led off
and reached on an error. Justin Mitchell and Dearth Parker
each executed perfect bunts to load the bases. Gunner Glad
then came up with a single that scored Price and Mitchell. Chad
Price then executed another bunt to score Parker and give the Mountaineers
a 10-8 lead. In the bottom of the 9th inning, Glad came on
to pitch and pick up his 1st save of the season. Levi Rhoades
(3-1) picked up the win on the mound. Carey Crain turned
in another strong performance on the mound. He threw six
innings and allowed just five hits and two earned runs, while striking
out three.
