MOUNTAINEER BASEBALL Story by Aric Thomas Mountaineers Pick Up Another Two WinsDespite the cold conditions, the Eastern Oklahoma State College baseball teams picked up two wins on Tuesday at Richland College. The Mountaineers (4-2) won by scores of 6-4 and 12-2. In game one, Gunner Glad was the offensive and defensive star for the Mountaineers. On the mound Glad (1-0) picked up his first win in four innings of work. He struck out four while allowing just one run. Offensively, he went 2-4 with a double, 2 runs scored and a RBI. In the nightcap, freshman pitcher Ben Hayes (1-0) picked up his first collegiate win. Hayes tossed four scoreless innings while allowing just four hits and striking out five. Offensively the Mountaineers were led by Gunner Glad (2-4), Ryan Davis (2-3) and Logan Schamburg (2-3). Schamburg, a freshman catcher, also had his first career home run. The Mountaineers will play their home opener on Saturday February 17th. They will play a double header against Redlands Community College with first pitch slated for noon. |
