LADY MOUNTAINEER BASKETBALL

Lady Mountaineers Play in the Barton County Classic
November 9th & 10th, 2007

The Lady Mountaineers with a record of 2-3, will face the Allen County Lady Red Devil Basketball squad tonight at 6 pm.  This weekend the Lady Mountaineers struggled with the #2 ranked Barton County on friday, Nov. 9.  The Lady Mountaineers faced a team that is made up of great shooters, athletes and  height.  The Lady Mountaineers, comprised of all freshman, but 3, had a great experience in facing a great team early in the season.  The Lady Mountaineers came back on Saturday fired up and ready to go!  The Ladies faced #1 ranked Seward Community College, out of Liberal, KS. The  Lady Mountaineers came out pressuring in a man-to-man defense and finishing on the offensive end. At one point in the game the Lady Mountaineers held an 8 point lead. 

The Lady Mountaineers were led by Kelli Burnette of Bethel with 24 pts.  Shaqualla Alexander of Wewoka tossed in 15 points while Michelle Hardimon of Oklahoma City, added 9 points.  The Lady Mountaineer team fell in the last seconds to Seward with a score of  56-59.
