Eastern Baseball Pre-season Ranked 34th - Deason and Glad Named in Top 200

PG Crosschecker, a division of Perfect Game USA, came out with their pre-season Top 50 JUCO baseball teams and their Top 200 prospects for 2008.  The Eastern baseball team was ranked 34th in this poll.  PG Crosschecker is a unique poll in that it ranks every Junior Colleges together.  All Division I, II and III NJCAA schools along with all of the California Junior Colleges.  "It's nice to be recognized," said Head Coach Aric Thomas.  "It shows that our program has risen to championship level and that our players have worked hard to earn respect from people around the country.  We still are focused and know that it is more important to be ranked in the post season polls."

Not just the Eastern Baseball Team received pre-season honors.  Two players Chance Deason and Gunner Glad were also ranked in PG Crosschecker's Top 200 prospects for 2008.  Ranked #110 is Sophomore left handed pitcher Chance Deason and ranked #183 is Sophomore second baseman and right handed pitcher Gunner Glad.  Last year, both Deason and Glad were named to 1st Team All Bi-State Conference.

Eastern opens up their season noon Saturday (February 2nd) against Grayson County College in Denison Texas.  Eastern's schedule is loaded with ranked opponents.  They play 17th ranked Grayson three times, 25th ranked Texarkana four times, 29th ranked University of Arkansas at Fort Smith four times, and 31st ranked Cowley County three times.
