A Team That Can Make Us Proud

The Eastern Lady Mountaineers are on a roll, playing truly inspired basketball and winning four of their last five games, including a dramatic Dec.8 double overtime win against Allen County.

These women are playing a winning style of basketball, now at 10-10 coming off a big win against Seminole.

The Keys to Tuesday night’s success is the constant defensive presence that they show. Coach Andy Mace and assistant Coach Anita Hernandez preach defense to this team and they seem to have bought into this philosophy as a group, a led by Shaqualla Alexander, these ladies are a tough defensive team with a strong inside-outside game. With two solid post players in Caeti Radley and Whitney Ward, a dead eye deep range shooter, Kelli Burnette and a consistent point guard Michelle Hardimon. These ladies are impressive as a team.

However, an element that is crucial to every teams success is a good bench, and this team has a great bench, with players coming off that are just as talented as the starting five. This year’s lady Mountaineers, as they gear up for conference. The sky is the limit for these young ladies.
