The Tournament of Champions, outside of state playoffs, is one of the best Girls Basketball Tournaments in the state of Oklahoma. Many of the best teams from all different classes face-off in head to head competition. This tournament's prestige draws the best teams Oklahoma has to offer. Some of the past champions include Edmond Memorial, Stillwater, Tulsa Edison, Tahlequah, Alva, Silo, Canadian, Indianola and Norman High. This tournament has seen many of the best players the state has had to offer. Included on this list are Stephanie McGhee (Howe-2004 State Champions), Crystal Smith (Savanna), Krista Ragan (Indianola), and Stacy Hansmeyer (Norman High), Iciss Tillis (Cascia Hall-1999 State Champions). Six out of the eight teams in this year's bracket were ranked by coaches aid in their January 7th rankings. These teams include: Del City- 6A ranked 4th, Coweta-5A ranked 2nd, McAlester- 5A ranked 4th, Durant-5A ranked 11th, Porum-2A ranked 11th, Talihina- 2A ranked 16th. Tip off is scheduled to begin at 4pm on Thursday and Friday, and 3pm on Saturday. The championship game will begin at 7:30. All games will be played at the McAlester Expo Center.
