MOUNTAINEER BASEBALLEastern Rallies to Beat Carl Albert
and Crowder
On Monday versus Carl Albert, Eastern found itself trailing 8-4 in the bottom of the 7th inning. Poor defense and some timely hitting allowed the Mountaineers to score three runs in the bottom of the 7th and eight runs in the bottom of the 8th inning. Houston Slemp, Jeff Scardino, Jesse Santo, Casey McCollum, Brady White and Tommie Johnson each had multiple hit games. Cameron Green belted his second home run of the year. Seth Terry improved to 6-1 on the mound by coming on to get two outs in the 8th inning. Andrew Watson tossed a scoreless 9th inning. Tuesday the Mountaineers traveled to Neosho, Missouri to take on Crowder College. They used late inning rallies again to win their 26th game of the season. Trailing 8-2 in the 7th inning, Eastern scored one in the 7th, three in the 8th and five in the 9th. Tyler Vann and Andrew Watson pitched a combined five innings of scoreless relief. They allowed just three hits and no walks while striking out four. Offensively, Justin Klusak, Cameron Green, Kaleb Brawner and Ben Kozma had multiple hit games.
