Blue Rallies to Beat Black in Game

The Eastern Baseball Team began their
fall World Series on Monday. Despite
falling behind twice, the Blue Team rallied to defeat the Black
Team 9-5.
Team Black took a 1-0 lead in the
top of the 1st inning on a RBI ground out by Chris Munoz. After Coleman Rhoades scored on
a throwing error, Munoz delivered again in the top of the 2nd inning
with a two out RBI single. Trailing 3-0, the Black Team scored
1 run on a throwing error in the bottom of the 2nd. Neither
team scored until the 5th inning. Rhoades hit a RBI single
to put the Black Team up 4-1. The Blue Team escaped further
damage, when Tyler Vann induced a bases loaded double play to end
the inning. In the bottom of the 5th inning, Sam King tied
the game with a three run home run. Team Black took a 5-4
lead in the top of the 6th inning on a RBI double by Nathan Goodall. The
Blue Team responded again with five runs in the bottom of the 6th. Houston
Slemp lead off the inning with a home run and then King drove in
a run with a double. Anthony Trevino doubled home two more
runs and later scored on a wild pitch. Andrew Watson tossed
a scoreless 7th giving the Blue Team the victory.
