Propels Team Blue to World Series Sweep The Eastern Baseball Team continued their fall World Series on Wednesday. The Blue Team entered the day leading the series 2-0. After six lead changes, the Blue Team finished the sweep by winning 9-7.
The Black Team took a 1-0 lead in the top of the 1st inning on a RBI double by Kyle Wallace. In the bottom of the 1st, Houston Slemp led off with a home run, his third in three days. Sam King later doubled in two runs putting the Blue Team up 3-1. The Black Team answered right back with three runs in the top of the 2nd inning. Wallace drove in another run with a single and then he and Chris Munoz later scored on a throwing error. The Black Team held the 4-3 lead until the bottom of the 4th inning. Justin Klusak doubled to lead off the inning and then King and Jordan Mings each hit RBI singles. Trailing again 5-4, the Black Team rallied for two runs in the top of the 5th inning. Nathan Goodall walked to lead off the inning and then Joe Spring doubled. Goodall scored on a passed ball and Spring scored on a balk to put the Black Team up 6-5. In the bottom of the 6th inning, the Blue Team scored four runs to take the lead for good. Slemp was hit by a pitch and Kaleb Brawner reached on a fielder’s choice. With one out and runners at 2nd and 3rd base, Justin Klusak was intentional walked to set up a force, but Cameron Green made them pay blasting a grand slam to left field. The Black Team scored one run in the top of the 7th to bring the score to 9-7.
