Mings Guides Team Blue to a 2-0
Series Lead

The Eastern Baseball Team continued their
fall World Series on Tuesday. With a 12-5 victory, Team Blue
has taken a 2-0 Series Lead.
The
Blue Team scored twice in the 1st and 2nd innings to take a 4-0
lead. Cameron Green had a two out, RBI single in the
1st inning and Kaleb Brawner drove in a run with a ground out in
the 2nd. The other two runs scored by an error and wild pitch. Team
Black rallied for 5 runs in the bottom of the 3rd inning despite
getting only one hit. Chris Munoz had a RBI single, Nathan
Goodall hit a sacrifice fly and Joe Spring scored a run with a
squeeze bunt. Spring later stole home in the inning. The
Blue Team responded with three runs in the 5th and 6th innings,
followed by another two in the 7th. In the 5th, Steve Genao
drew a bases loaded walk and Ben Kozma followed with a single that
drove in two runs. Green hit his second RBI single of the
day in the 6th inning and later scored on an error. In the
7th inning, Houston Slemp blasted an opposite field, two run home
run. It was his second home run of the World Series. Jordan
Mings slammed the door shut on the Black Team. Mings pitched
the final four innings to pick up the win. He didn’t
allow a run and just gave up two hits while striking out three.
The two teams will play Game #3 on Wednesday at 1:30 pm.
