Slemp Named National Player of the Week
Eastern Returns to NJCAA & Perfect Game Polls

The Eastern Oklahoma State College baseball team has won 16 of their past 18 games and they are receiving individual and team recognition nationally.  During the past 18 games, the Mountaineers have outscored their opponents by a score of 194-93 during that span.  Eastern has improved to 27-15 on the year and are currently in 1st place with a 10-2 Oklahoma Collegiate Athletic Conference record.

Sophomore centerfielder, Houston Slemp was named the NJCAA National Player of the week for the week ending April 11th.  Slemp is currently leading the Mountaineers in batting average (435), hits (60), doubles (15), triples (3), home runs (13) and RBI’s (53).  He is also second on the team in stolen bases with 17.

The team has also received national attention by reentering both the NJCAA and Perfect Game polls.  Eastern returned to the NJCAA poll by being ranked 22nd this week.  The Perfect Game poll ranks every team in the country regardless of classification or organization.
