Mountaineers Blast Seven
Home Runs in Win versus Crowder

The Eastern Oklahoma State College
baseball team (31-16) defeated Crowder College on Tuesday. The Mountaineers pounded out
21 hits, seven of which were home runs, in route to an 18-12 victory. Houston
Slemp hit two more home runs to bring his season total to 17. Chris
Munoz (13), Jordan Mings (11), Cameron Green (7), Sam King (6)
and Curtis Coyle (1) each homered. Coyle was 5-5 at the plate
and he scored four times and drove in three. Green and Munoz
each had four RBI’s. Justin ‘Bubba’ Knight
(1-0) pitched 4 1/3 strong innings to pick up the win. He
allowed just two runs while striking out three.
Eastern will wrap up the regular
season with four conference games this week. On Thursday, the Mountaineers will travel to Miami,
OK to take on NEO in a 12:00 pm double header. This game
was originally scheduled for 1:00 pm, but was moved to noon because
of NEO’s graduation. The two teams will meet in Wilburton
on Saturday at 1:00 pm. Eastern will be recognizing their
sophomores prior to the start of the first game on Saturday afternoon.
