former Eastern Oklahoma State College pitchers are throwing really well
in professional baseball. Ashton Mowdy (pictured) and Nate Pettus
were signed last year by the Houston Astros. Blake King signed
with the St. Louis Cardinals in 2006.

Santo Named 1st Team All American, McCollum
Named Rawlings Gold Glove 3rd Baseman

Eastern Oklahoma State College baseball program received two distinct
individual honors by the NJCAA. Shortstop, Jesse Santo was named
NJCAA 1st Team All American and 3rd baseman, Casey McCollum was named
to the Rawlings Gold Glove Team.

Student Athletes Honored
Two
Eastern Oklahoma State College athletes were honored April 27 with
the prestigious Larry Stone Award. Sophomores Layna Austin, Checotah,
and Benjamin Hall, Mannford, were selected as the recipients of the
award at Eastern’s 42nd Annual Larry Stone All Sports Banquet
