Eastern Baseball has Five Players Named 2009-10 NJCAA Academic All-Americans

NJCAA The NJCAA National Office in Colorado Springs released the names of their 2009-10 NJCAA Distinguished Academic All-American and Academic All-American awards. The Eastern baseball team placed five players on the list. Cameron Green, Ben Kozma, Houston Slemp, Joe Spring and Tyler Vann were named to the team. Kozma and Slemp were awarded Distinguished Academic All-American honors.

The Eastern Oklahoma State College baseball team finished the year with several team and individual awards.

TEAM ACCOLADES
-Eastern finishes the season Ranked #9 (NJCAA) and #14 (Perfect Game)
-Oklahoma Collegiate Athletic Conference Co-Champions (14-6 Conference Record)
-Region 2 Tournament Champions (4-1 Tournament Record)
-37-22 Final Record - Played 38 games against opponents that were ranked during the 2010 season

Season Comes to an End for the 9th Ranked Eastern Baseball Team

Field The 9th ranked Eastern baseball team (37-22) lost its first two games in South Central District Tournament play to finish the season. In the first game, the Mountaineers lost to Crowder College 11-2 and in the second game, Delgado Community College knocked off Eastern 13-6. Eastern finished the year ranked 9th by the NJCAA and 14th by Perfect Game.

Region 2 Champions

The Eastern baseball team (37-20) won its first Region 2 Tournament Championship since 2001. The Mountaineers entered Sunday as the only undefeated team in the double elimination tournament.

Eastern Advances to Finals of Region 2 Tournament

Price The Eastern baseball team (36-19) knocked off NEO by a score of 2-1 to advance to the finals of the Region 2 Tournament. The Mountaineers improved to 3-0 in the tournament and will now play Connors on Sunday for the Region 2 Championship.

Sparks The Eastern baseball team (35-19) defeated Connors State College by a score of 5-4 on Friday. With the win, Eastern moves to 2-0 in the Region 2 Tournament. There next opponent will be determined by the outcome of the Seminole vs. NEO game that was suspended due to rain.
