Eastern Pitchers Having Success in Professional Baseball

Three former Eastern Oklahoma State College pitchers are throwing really well in professional baseball.  Ashton Mowdy (pictured) and Nate Pettus were signed last year by the Houston Astros.  Blake King signed with the St. Louis Cardinals in 2006.

Santo Named 1st Team All American, McCollum Named Rawlings Gold Glove 3rd Baseman

The Eastern Oklahoma State College baseball program received two distinct individual honors by the NJCAA.  Shortstop, Jesse Santo was named NJCAA 1st Team All American and 3rd baseman, Casey McCollum was named to the Rawlings Gold Glove Team.

Eastern Lands 11 Players on the
All-Region 2 Teams

The Eastern Oklahoma State College baseball team was strongly represented on the All Region 2 Team that was selected on Monday.  Jesse Santo (SS) and Stephen Hagen (1B/3B) were selected to the 1st Team.  On the 2nd Team were Casey McCollum (3B), Jeff Scardino (OF) and Tommie Johnson (OF).

Eastern Honors the Sophomores
Team scores 57 runs in 4 games vs 13th ranked Fort Smith

The Eastern baseball team (30-24-1 / 12-8) completed the regular season this weekend despite all of the rain.  The team made a strong statement heading into the Region 2 Tournament this week.  In Wilburton Thursday, Eastern run ruled 13th ranked Fort Smith 15-2.

Eastern Rallies to Beat Carl Albert and Crowder

The Eastern baseball team (26-19-1 / 8-4) rallied from late inning deficits to defeat Carl Albert State College on Monday and Crowder College on Tuesday.  Monday’s score was 15-9 and Tuesday the Mountaineers won 11-8.
