Amber Taylor - Head Coach
Amber Taylor is in her fifth season as Head Women’s Basketball Coach at Eastern.
Under Taylor’s leadership, the Lady Mountaineers have made substantial progress. Last year, the team finished as the runner-up in the NJCAA Region II Tournament for the second time in two years. The Lady Mountaineers finished with a 21-12 record in 2015 and a 26-6 record in 2014.
During her time at Eastern, Taylor has coached two NJCAA All-Americans; two NJCAA Academic All-Americans; one NJCAA Region II MVP; one NJCAA Region II All-Tournament Team player; three NJCAA Region II All-Region players; four NJCAA OCAC All-Conference players; and five NJCAA OCAC All-Conference Honorable Mention players. In just her second year as head coach, Taylor shared NJCAA Region II Coach of the Year honors with Scott Morris of Northern Oklahoma A&M College and Jay Niehues of Redlands Community College.
Taylor began her college coaching career as the Assistant Coach/Recruiting Coordinator at Paris Junior College from 2007-2009 and helped them reach the Region 14 tournament. Her coaching continued at Jacksonville College as the Assistant Coach/Recruiting Coordinator from 2009-2011. During her tenure at Jacksonville, she signed Jacksonville’s No. 1 recruiting class in the history of women’s basketball and helped them reach the Region 14 tournament for the fourth consecutive year. Taylor has recruited and coached four NJCAA Region 14 All-Academic players, four NJCAA Region 14 All-Region players, five NJCAA Texas Eastern Conference All-Conference players, and six NJCAA Texas Eastern Conference honorable-mention players. In 2009, Taylor was also selected by the College Coaches Network to be a head coach at the National Junior College Top 100 event.
Taylor received her bachelor’s degree in kinesiology/athletic training from the University of Central Arkansas in 2003. In 2007, she received her master’s of science degree from Harding University where she served as the Graduate Assistant Coach with Women’s Basketball.
Brandon Taylor - Assistant Coach/Recruiting Coordinator
Brandon Taylor is in his fourth season with the Eastern Oklahoma State College Women’s basketball program.
He previously spent two years with Texas Southern University. Prior to Texas Southern, Taylor assisted with junior college power Trinity Valley Community College. There he gained valuable experience working with a program which boasted four straight years of conference and regional championships. Trinity advanced to the National Junior College Athletic Association Championships in back-to-back seasons while Taylor was with the school. Taylor received his Bachelor's Degree in Kinesiology from Texas Southern University.
Taylor is a native of Nacogdoches, Texas.
Keturah Spotwood - Assistant Coach
Keturah Spotwood joins the Eastern Oklahoma State College Women's basketball program after serving two years as an assistant coach at Kilgore College.
Spotwood earned a bachelor’s degree from Graceland University in 2010. She played basketball at both Kilgore and Graceland, where she was named the 2008 Newcomer of the Year. Spotwood is currently working on a master’s degree in kinesiology from Dallas Baptist University.
Spotwood is a native of Tulsa, Oklahoma.
