Itinerary
Day 1-2: Flight to Italy
Fly overnight to Rome. After clearing customs on Day 2, you’ll
be greeted by your bilingual EF Tour Director. On our EF orientation
tour, discover famous Roman landmarks like the Spanish Steps, the
perfectly proportioned Pantheon and the lively Piazza Navona.
Day 3: Rome
On Day 3, get a deeper understanding of Rome on our guided sightseeing
tour of the Eternal City. Stand beneath the vast dome of St. Peter’s
Basilica, located inside Vatican City, the world’s smallest
country. After seeing the awe-inspiring Sistine Chapel, visit the
Colosseum, where gladiators once battled for their lives. Later,
stroll the ruins of the Forum Romanum, the former heart of the Empire,
admiring the fragments of Rome’s glorious past.
Day 4: Pompeii
Opt to see how wealthy Romans lived 2,000 years ago when we visit
Pompeii and the nearby Bay of Naples.
Day 5-6: Florence
Transfer to Florence, birthplace of the Renaissance. See Ponte Vecchio,
and visit Chiesa di Santa Croce and the imposing marble Duomo. Later,
attend a leather workshop held by local artisans. Tonight, board
an overnight train bound for Paris. On Day 6, take a guided sightseeing
tour of the city on the Seine. See the École Militaire, the
Conciergerie, the Eiffel Tower, and the Champs-Elysées. As
you step inside the Notre Dame Cathedral, don't miss the stunning
stained-glass rose windows that light up the north and south ends
of the building in vibrant colors.
Day 7: Paris
Join your tour director for a stroll down the elegant avenues of
Paris on your EF walking tour. Pay a visit to the Mona Lisa at the
Louvre. Opt later to visit Versailles, designed for Louis XIV to
incite the envy of his royal peers. For your last evening in France,
enjoy a narrated cruise down the Seine.
Day 8-10: Eurostar to
London Extension
Extend your stay three days. Take the Eurostar through the Channel
Tunnel and see London on a guided tour. Then, visit St. Paul’s
Cathedral and Hampton Court Palace.
Day 11: Depart for home
Depart for home.
