Eastern Meats team wins Royal contest

The Eastern Oklahoma State College Meats Judging Team recently took First Place Overall in the 2001 American Royal Intercollegiate Meat Judging Contest in Kansas City, Missouri November 5. As a team Eastern placed: 1st in Pork Judging, Total Questions, Beef Grading, in Beef Judging, Total Beef, Total Placings and 3rd in Lamb Judging.

Team members included, from front left:
Clint Johnson, Chickasha; Coach Roger Stites and Lindsey Rinard, Clovis, CA.

Back row: Nathan Dickson, Wann, OK and Travis McGoffin, Central Point, OR.

Rinard placed 1st Overall, 1st in Questions, 1st in Pork Judging, 2nd in Total Placings, 3rd in Beef Judging and 5th in Lamb Judging. Dickson placed 4th Overall, 1st in Total Placings, 3rd in Pork Judging and 3rd in Beef Grading. McGoffin placed 5th Overall, 3rd in Total Placings and 2nd in Pork Judging. Johnson placed 10th Overall and 4th in Total Placings.
