. | Eastern PBL Students Attend
National Fall Leadership Conference Over 2,600 Future Business Leaders of AmericaPhi Beta Lambda students from across the nation met in Kansas City, Missouri, for the 2001 National Fall Leadership Conference recently. Seven students and two sponsors from Eastern Oklahoma State College PBL Tuned Into Business at the conference. They attended workshops presented by members of the national officer team, national office personnel, and heard nationallyrecognized speakers. Workshops at the NFLC included: Leadership; FBLAPBLUp Close and Personal; The Anatomy of a Leader; Business Etiquette for Successful Leaders; Integrating Service Learning Into Your Classroom; Ways to WOW Your Audience; Values Clarification; Developing a Marketable Skill Package; Mission LIFTMarch of Dimes; Preparing Parliamentary Teams for Competition; Who I Am Depends On Me!; Getting Ready for Competitive Events; Voice Typing; and PBL Chapter Development and Programs. The workshops were great, said local chapter president Kermit Millican. I learned a lot and had the chance to hear information that will help me in the workplace and in being an effective leader. Students were entertained by hypnotist Ricky Kalmon. He put 12 volunteers under his spell and provided an engaging and enjoyable evening of laughs. John Crudele, a nationallyknown motivational speaker, mesmerized the audience with his stories, audience participation techniques, and heartrendering thoughts on patriotism, family, friends, and priorities. It was a wonderful experience, said Laura Morgan. This is my first time to attend a NFLC, and it was even better than expected. Attending from Eastern were Millican from Wilburton; Morgan, Red Oak; Melissa Barnes, Wilburton; David Bogard, McAlester; Leah Hurley, Tulsa; PBL cosponsor Harold Bogard, and PBL cosponsor Linda Morgan. |
