EOSC Music Dept. Presents Annual
Candlelighting Services Eastern Oklahoma State College’s Music Department is pleased to announce the two annual Candlelighting Services to be held at 5:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m., Sunday, December 7th in Mitchell Auditorium. The Concert Choir, actors, soloists, along with members of Eastern’s Band and guests of the music department will collectively present the dramatic Christmas musical “I’ll Be Home for Christmas” on the Wilburton campus. It is the story of a family and their neighbors looking forward to Christmas in 1941 and trying to find hope despite the events of December 7th, 1941. Student participants are Daniel Vogt of Checotah; Stacy Proe, Crowder; Leslie Hynds, Emily Johnson, Lacey Johnson, Rachel Johnson, Seth Johnson, Kim Pope and Bianca Walker all of Hartshorne; Jesse Bruesch, Heavener; Laura Hunter, Kiowa; Jordan Bernhardt, McAlester; Vanessa Tillery, Panola; Krista Brown and Michelle Thomas both from Talihina and with Stephen Brinlee, Clark Conner, Brent Darley and Megan Gilbert all from Wilburton. The cast includes Conner as Howard West; Emily Enis as Micky, Howard’s granddaughter; LaDonna Enis and Mandy Bray as Howard’s two daughters; Heather Sears as Lil and Tim Johnson as Sid, Howard’s neighbors and Erik Harris as Danny the mailman. Brinlee will portray Jerry Brainerd, the radio announcer with Jordan Bernhardt, Bruesch, Hunter and Gilbert playing the parts of radio actors. Soloists will be Vogt, Gilbert, Tillery, Mark Atteberry, Pope and Hunter. Music Department Chairperson Paul Enis said he was excited to present this Christmas musical to the community and surrounding area. “Please come and join us as the true meaning of Christmas is shared through this excellent program,” Enis said. As always, admission is free. |
