Summer/Fall Commencement
Exercise For the first time in a number of years, Eastern Oklahoma State College will hold a summer/fall commencement exercise at 2:00 p.m., December 7th in Mitchell Auditorium. More than 500 guests and graduates are expected to attend the graduation exercises on the Wilburton campus. The ceremony will feature Eastern Alum and Attorney/Entrepreneur Ben Curtis from Poteau as keynote speaker. According to Eastern Interim Vice President for Academic Affairs Vickie Rager, holding the fall ceremonies is an effort to accommodate students who graduate mid-term. “This gives these students an opportunity to walk across the stage when they graduate instead of forcing them to come back for a May service,” Rager said. This fall 109 graduates from Eastern will represent more than 20 Oklahoma counties and several surrounding states as well as a foreign country when they walk across the stage to receive 48 Associate of Arts degrees, 39 Associate of Science degrees, 4 Agriculture degrees, 8 degrees in Child Development, 2 in Nursing, 2 in Technical Studies and 6 one year certificates. |
