Matt Thurman Signs With Eastern

Matt Thurman, a 6’9” post from Latta High School, signed a national letter of intent to play basketball at Eastern Oklahoma State College in Wilburton.

Eastern finished with a 22-9 record this past season before bowing out in the Regional semi-finals. “I’ve always been a winner and want to go to a place that wins. Eastern is that place for me,” stated Thurman. “The coaches stress the fact that you are there to learn, they keep it interesting and fun.”

Thurman led Latta to a 24-5 record this past season and the area finals for Latta coach Donny Husband. Thurman had 155 blocks his senior year while averaging 17.9 points per game. He also had 8.3 rebounds per game last season.
