OK State College Agriculture Students Named ALL AMERICANS
(Press Release 3-26-04) Hank Mooney, Office of Public Information Two Eastern Oklahoma State College Livestock Judging team members were among 15 junior college students nation-wide to be named as All-Americans by the National Juco Livestock Judging Coaches Association. The All-American designation is a new award by the Association designed to bring recognition to those livestock judging contestants who perform well in national tournaments as well as perform well overall academically. Chase Groves, sophomore from Garland, AR, and Tyler Dewey, sophomore from Poteau received the national livestock judging honors last week (March 16) during the Houston Intercollegiate Livestock Judging Contest and Rodeo. This year Groves garnered 4 individual placings at the Kansas City Contest followed by single individual placings in both Denver and Fort Worth and finished up with three individual awards in Houston before taking the All-American Award. Dewey had an individual placing in the Kansas City contest followed by two awards in Houston before receiving the top award.
