Annual College Candlelighting Program Features Two Performances

Eastern Oklahoma State College Music Department will present the dramatic Christmas musical “Fear Not,” during the annual Candlelighting program for the community with two performances Sunday, December 5, in Mitchell Hall Auditorium on the Wilburton campus.

"We will have two performances this year," Director Paul Enis said. "Our first will be at 5 p.m. followed by an 8 p.m. performance to begin the Christmas season. As always, the admission is free.

"I would like to take this opportunity to extend a personal invitation to everyone in the surrounding communities to attend this very special musical presentation.

“Christmas is about God in heaven who loved us enough to send His Son to die for us. Christmas is about deliverance from fear,” he said.

Candlelighting will feature students from Eastern's Concert Choir and members of the Eastern Band including actors, soloists and some guests of the music department will present the program.

Soloists include Mark Atteberry, Tomomi Nishimura, AnaLeah Rothmire, Seth Johnson, Justin Crook, Daniel Vogt and Hara Seo. Student participants include Vogt from Checotah; Justin Crook and Mandy Ools, Crowder; Eric Harris, Lacey Johnson and Seth Johnson; Hartshorne; Jesse Bruesch and April Robertson, Heavener; Rothmire, Hennessey; Laura Hunter, Tim Johnson and Brandon Latty, Kiowa; Atteberry, Savanna; Seo, Gwang-ju, South Korea; Krista Brown and Heather Sears, Talihina; Kumiko Kudo and Tomomi Nishimura, Tokyo, Japan; Tanara Geegbae, Tulsa and Stephen Brinlee, Wilburton.

"We're excited to present this excellent Christmas musical to the community,"Enis said.

"Please come and help us celebrate the beginning of the 2004 Christmas season with this very special Christmas musical demonstrating the true meaning of Christmas through the outstanding program "Fear Not."
