Story-Teller To Visit Wilburton College Campus

The nationally acclaimed story-teller Tim Tingle will give a presentation on the Eastern Oklahoma State College Wilburton campus in Mitchell Hall Auditorium 1 p.m. Wednesday (Nov. 10).

The presentation is open to everyone courtesy of the Latimer County Arts Council, Theatre Eastern, NASA and the Eastern library.

Theatre Eastern Director Ruth Brelsford says he will also teach a story-telling workshop and talk about collecting oral histories and the stories of his Choctaw people.

“I had an opportunity to hear Tim earlier this year and I do not exaggerate when I say that he is very special. I was enthralled,” she said!

His book, “Walking in the Choctaw Road,” is competing for the Oklahoma Reads Oklahoma Award this year.

“This is a very special opportunity for us,” she said. “Please come and encourage others to join us and enjoy the ‘story-teller’.”
