Eastern’s Business Club Installs Officers And Members

The 2004–2005 officer and member installation for the Lambda Lambda chapter of Phi Beta Lambda was held Wednesday, September 22 in the ballroom at Eastern Oklahoma State College. With a membership over 260,000 and nearly 15,000 chapters across the United States and abroad, Future Business Leaders of America–Phi Beta Lambda, Inc. is a growing national student organization. With its emphasis on vocational education, the organization prepares students for careers, not only in business, but in any career where communication and interaction are keys to the work environment.

Eastern’s Vice President of Academic Affairs, Dr. Brad Rice, showed his appreciation and respect for PBL and Eastern’s chapter in his welcome speech. Business Division Chairperson, Kay Langham was also on hand to witness the installation. President Lindy Morgan carried out the duties as master of ceremony.

The officer installation ceremony was conducted by Becky Rayborn. Becky is a student at Connors State College and is the state chapter Two–Year College Vice President.

The officers for the 2004–2005 school year of the Lambda Lambda chapter are President Lindy Morgan, Wilburton; Vice President Carmen Beers, Hartshorne; Secretary Jackie Caughern, Leflore; Treasurer Dawn Wallis, Wilburton; Reporter Chris Mervyn, Wilburton; Parliamentarian Jenna England, Wilburton; Historian Belinda Keith, Stigler; Student Senate Representative Jeremy Pebley, Wilburton; and Alternate Student Senate Representative Tommy Gonzales, Wilburton.

Following the officer installation, President Lindy Morgan once again took the podium for the general member installation. Installed members were Alexander Oswald, McAlester; Darren Cleveland, McAlester; Amber Cole, Wilburton; Angelina Scott, Stigler; Rachel McCabe, Wilburton;  Elizabeth Hatter, McAlester; Kendall Greuel, Muskogee; Krystal Tomlinson, Wilburton; Sean Blash, Lawton; Stuart Webber, Hartshorne; Hendra Oen, Jakarta Pusat, Indonesia; Hiroki Sawayanagai, Nagano, Japan; Marion Magee, Red Oak; Lindsey King, Hartshorne; Tuan Nguyen, Wister; Chris VanHorn, McAlester; and Lawson Giddings, Krebs.

Eastern’s PBL co–advisors are Harold Bogard, Estella Bennett–Mask, and Linda Morgan.
