Eastern Vice President Resigns
(Press Release 8-12-05)
Hank Mooney, Office of Public Information

Eastern Oklahoma State College Vice President for Administrative Services/Chief Financial Officer, Glen Earley, resigned from the Wilburton college Friday to accept a position in the Oklahoma City area according to Eastern President Dr. Richard M. Bernard.

Earley’s last day at the college is expected to be August 31.

Bernard said Earley “came to me late this week to say that he had been offered a position in the Oklahoma City area.

“Glen said that after he and his wife Arlene sold their Kiowa farm, they bought a retirement home in Yukon near their children. After some months of long commutes Glen feels it best to accept the Oklahoma City job and relocate near them.”

Bernard said the college was able to find an interim financial officer “who is a seasoned professional and is currently working as Assistant Vice Chancellor for Budget and Finance at the Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education offices in Oklahoma City.”

Bernard has appointed Mike Chambless as Interim Vice President for Administrative Affairs at Eastern.

Before his current position at the state regents he served as Vice President for Fiscal Affairs at Langston University, Langston, and earlier as Vice President for Fiscal Affairs at Seminole State College, Seminole.

According to Bernard, Chambless, who has a home in Seminole, will take the position at Eastern August 29.

Earley came to Eastern in 1999 as a computer systems and business processes consultant. Bernard named Earley to his current position July 1, 2004. Earley had served as Comptroller for Oklahoma State University, Stillwater, and as Director of Internal Auditing for the University of Oklahoma, Norman, before accepting the Eastern postion.

Bernard said the college is searching for a full-time Vice President for Administrative Services and hopes to have that person in place later in the year.
