Hank Mooney, Office of Public Information

Quinn WooldridgeReturning to a school where he says he “spent a lot of time playing and riding his bike on the campus as a youth,” Quinn Wooldridge has been named to serve as the new assistant men’s basketball coach at Eastern Oklahoma State College in Wilburton.

Wooldridge had a lot of time to play on the campus when his father, Clyde Wooldridge, was Eastern’s men’s basketball coach in the late ‘80s.

Athletic Director and Men’s Basketball Coach Win Case says he is excited to have Wooldridge on his coaching staff and is expecting great things from 29-year-old Wooldridge who has worked at four other schools before Eastern.

Wooldridge began his coaching career in 1999 at Missouri Baptist University in St. Louis after earning his bachelor’s degree from Oklahoma Baptist University, Shawnee.

He returned to OBU as assistant men’s basketball coach in 2001. A year later, he became assistant men’s basketball, assistant women’s volleyball coach and sports information director at Lyon College, Batesville, AR. He continued his education at East Central University, Ada, earning his Master’s in Education with emphasis in physical education in 2003.

Wooldridge became head boy’s basketball coach at McAlester High School in August 2003 before accepting the post at Eastern this summer.

He and his wife Andy have one son, Michal, 2, and live in McAlester.
