Clubs Help Area Families During Christmas Season The Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society at Eastern Oklahoma State College along with the college Criminal Justice club recently completed a Christmas toy drive for area families in need. The clubs gathered more than 700 gifts to be distributed to 20 families around the Wilburton campus with more than 150 toys being donated to the McAlester Youth Shelter. Club members helping wrap gifts include from left: Matt Wallis who serves as the PTK Public Relations officer from Talihina; Phylicia Karch, PTK Student Senate Representative, Canadian; Heather Hammon, PTK Vice President for Leadership, Clayton and Joe Riddle, Criminal Justice club member from McAlester. "It’s nice to work in a place where even though we all have our own problems to deal with, we still can extend a helping hand to those less fortunate," PTK sponsor Brenda Kennedy said.
