College Instructor Named Tree
Farmer Of The Year Eastern Oklahoma State College Science Division Chairperson Bill Albright, left center, was recently named "Tree Farmer of the Year" by the Oklahoma Forestry Association. Albright has implemented a number of management activities on his tree farm near Red Oak over the past several years according to Eastern Forestry instructor Eddie Woods. "His management activities include aerial spraying of herbicides to control weed tree species, prescribed burning to reduce wildfire risk, thinning to improve growth rates and planting of tree seedlings," he said. Albright was presented a plaque as well as a new chainsaw and cutting safety equipment by, from left, Jason Whaley, District Forester with Oklahoma Forestry Services from Wilburton; Clint Ebert, Forester from Weyerhaeuser Co. & State Tree Farm Chairman, Wright City and Martin Fry, Executive Director of the Oklahoma Forestry Association, Hugo.
