Spring Musical

Eastern Oklahoma State College Music Department will hold the annual Spring Concert, with one performance 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 8, in Mitchell Auditorium on the Wilburton campus.

The concert will feature Eastern’s Band, Concert Choir and Sound Sensations as they present an hour-long concert for the community at no charge.

The choral program will include Adoramus Te by Palestrina, Two Bach Chorales, Achieved is the Glorious Work by Haydn, Cast Thy Burden by Bass, Ezekiel Saw de Wheel, a traditional spiritual, I Pledge My Allegiance by Gaither and Kirkland, and Celebrate by Gordon and Bonner.

The Sound Sensations will perform Only in America Medley, including I Will Remember You, Let It Be, Turn the Beat Around, and Only in America; and the hit song from the Lizzie McGuire movie, What Dreams are Made of. Eastern’s Band will play A Groovy Kind of Love, Freedom City March, Flamenco, A Child‘s Hymn, The Strategic Air Command, Brahms Finale, In the Stone and God Bless America.

Eastern Music Instructor Paul Enis says the hour-long performance should be entertaining.

“On behalf of the Eastern Music Department, I wish to extend this special Invitation to everyone in our area to join us in this evening of entertainment by our student musicians. Come and support our students as they present their annual Spring Concert,” he said.

Student participants include: Daniel Vogt of Checotah; Justin Crook, Scott Hargrove and Mandy Ools of Crowder; Catlin Ahtone, Erik Harris, Lacey Johnson, Seth Johnson and Billy Russell, Hartshorne; April Robertson, Heavener; Analeah Rothmire, Hennessey; Kumiko Kudo, Ai Morimoto, Asami Nagao, Tomomi Nishimura and Natsumi Yagi, Japan; Hara Seo, South Korea; Laura Hunter and Brandon Latty, Kiowa; Elisha Sellers, Louisiana; Jordan Bernhardt and Joe Riddle, McAlester; Elizabeth Yeager, Preston; Stephany Stephens and Michael Wokaty, Quinton; Heather Sears, Talihina; Mandy Atkinson, Maria Boswell, Stephen Brinlee, Kyle Bristow, Krista Kendrick, Amanda Ralls, Mark Ward and Kyle Williams, Wilburton.

The Choir and Sound Sensations are co-directed by Paul Enis and Mary Ford with Ford accompanying and Enis conducting.

“We would like to take this opportunity to extend a special invitation to the citizens of Wilburton and all surrounding communities to come and join us during this special event, and, as always, admission is free,” he said.
