Eastern Regent

Longtime Wilburton community leader John Shero, center, was sworn in to a full seven year term as an Eastern Oklahoma State College Regent by Board Chairman Dale Covington while Eastern President Dr. Richard Bernard looks on during the regularly scheduled metting Friday (June 17). Shero was named by Gov. Brad Henry to fill the unexpired term of 17-year member and chairperson Georgia Tate and has now been confirmed to a full term. He remains an active member of the Wilburton Lions Club, is a past president of the organization and serves as activities treasurer. He is a past president of theWilburton Chamber of Commerce; President of the Latimer County Farm Bureau; President of the Latimer County Retired Teachers Association; Chairman of the Center Point Cemetery Association; Chairman of the Center Point Community Center and past chairman of the South East District Library System.
