Two Area Students
Awarded First Annual Chesapeake Scholarship
(Press Release 5-03-05) Hank Mooney, Office of Public Information More than 100 students at Eastern Oklahoma State College received near $60,000 in endowment scholarships through the Eastern Oklahoma State College Development Foundation last week at an awards assembly in the Student Union Ballroom on the Wilburton campus. Many of the students were those who had applied for the scholarships in early March and will be incoming freshman when classes begin next fall. Ashley Ford from Kinta was presented the Chesapeake Scholarship by Animal Science Division Chairperson Ray Rice. Ashley graduated from Quinton High School where she was active in A. P. English Club, 4-H Club, speech, choir and art. Ashley will be a freshman majoring in Veterinary Medicine. She is the daughter of Kim and Tommy Ford. Aaron Sharp from Wilburton was presented the Chesapeake Scholarship by Business Division Chairperson Kay Langham. Aaron graduated from Wilburton High School where he was active in baseball, FBLA, FFA and football. He will be a freshman majoring in Business. He is the son of Brenda Sharp.
