Eastern Welcomes New Fiscal Management Team

A new financial leadership team is in place at Eastern Oklahoma State College according to the Wilburton college President Dr. Richard Barnard.

“We’ve added a comptroller, Nancy Tackett, to the financial team at Eastern,” Bernard said. “The position will allow closer monitoring and supervision of internal budgeting.

“And, after a nation-wide search procedure, have added Linda Sadler as Vice President for Administrative Services following Glen Earley’s resignation as VPAS to be closer to his family.”

Earey now works for the city of Oklahoma City and Mike Chambless has returned to the Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education after serving as interim VPAS this autumn.

Sadler comes to Eastern from Alpharetta, GA, a suburb of Atlanta, where she was Vice President for Financial Services at American InterContinental University at Dunwoody, GA.

Before taking that position, she had been Chief Financial Officer and a partner with BrainstormUSA, a distributor of educational software; Swift Denim as Vice President for Marketing; Tom’s Foods as Manager and Laboratory Tops, Chief Financial and Administrative Officer and Treasurer.

Sadler holds B.B.A. and M.B.A. degrees from Augusta State University and is a Certified Management Accountant.

Raised in a rural Georgia college town, she grew up showing horses and today, despite her significant business leadership roles, she continues her interest in rural and small town life.

As Eastern’s first Comptroller, Bernard says Tackett will support the new VPAS in fiscal management of the Wilburton college.

She comes to Eastern from Edmond and was primarily employed in Oklahoma City. She has held financial positions with the Oklahoma Insurance Department as Fiscal and Personnel Director; Oklahoma Goodwill Industries, Controller; the Oklahoma Department of Labor as CPA/Finance Officer and the Oklahoma Corporation Commission as Budget Officer.

She holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting and a master’s in business education from the University of Central Oklahoma. Tackett is a Certified Public Accountant and a Certified Procurement Officer.
