Theatre Eastern Presents 'Wizard
Of Oz' Theatre Eastern announces the annual spring musical THE WIZARD OF OZ, April 27, 28, & 29, at 7:30 p.m. in Mitchell Auditorium on the Wilburton campus of Eastern Oklahoma State College. Tickets for this family favorite are $5 at the door with the Box Office opening at 6:45 each evening. A Saturday night performance has been added to the schedule due to the popularity of the Eastern musicals each year. Co-produced by the theatre and music departments, "this year's show promises to be lots of fun," according to Ruth Askew Brelsford, director, " This version is called the MUNY version and it is quite different from the movie that we all know and love, but the songs are the same and the delightful characters are all there plus quite a bit of humor that adds up to a really good show. So get there early for good seats!" Featured in the production are: Tiffany Craig, Wister freshman, as"Dorothy;" Carly Jones and Maribeth Baker, Talihina sophomores, as the"Cowardly Lion" and 'Scarecrow,' respectively. Elizaeth Yeager, Preston sophomore, plays the "Tin Man" while Dottie Minshall, Wilburton, is the"Evil Witch" and Laurin Kelly, Wilburton sophomore, is the "Good Sorceress." Also in the cast are: Shanna Harp, Keota freshman; James Terpstra, Willburton sophomore; Charlie Miller, Wilburton sophomore; Tosha Sorter, Kiowa freshman; Lucy Moore, Kiowa sophomore; Veronica Allen, Wilburton freshman; Phylicia Karch, Canadian sophomore; AnaLeah Rothmire, Hennessey sophomore; Blake Pirtle, Muskogee sophomore; Autumn O'Hair, Wilburton freshman; Karen Cotton, Wilburton sophomore; Julia Murphy, McAlester freshman; Shantry Hilliard, Stillwell sophomore; Chris Kupiec, Stigler sophomore; and Cody Henry, Antlers sophomore. Children who play Munchkins are: Cheyenne Raney, Hannah Truitt, Gus Robinson, and Rhett Minshall, Wilburton; and Jacalyn Hulsey and Ty Thompson, Red Oak. Choreography is by Dottie Minshall and Paul Enis and Mary Ford serve as music directors. Costumes, props, and set are designed and built by the theatre department.
